Back then ... in the old days
Those were the days when the band did gigs for marriage receptions, flower shows, small stage audiences and the like. The trio was really doing their best at that time. They were also supported by guest guitarists and keyboardists for some of the shows. Not to mention the many changes in line ups that the band had to carry on with. Though there were many artists that played as members of SERENE SKY Rock Band, two of them were there from the very beginning of the band as a competition-loving college rock band. These two steadfast members are Sooraj (Drums/Vocal) and Thomas (Vocal/Guitar). At present, the twosome is supported by Ramesh (Bass) who joined the band a while before it went on to be dormant and has been constantly improving his own skills as the band slowly regained its stature.
To put in a bit of reminiscence here, the other guys who were part of the band at some or the other time included Femin (Keyboards), Jinu (Drums), Riby aka Abraham (Lead Guitar), Anato (Bass), Anush (Vocal), Senti (Lead Guitar), Bichu (Keyboards), Jacob (Bass), Chinnu (Bass), Suraaj (Drums), Kurisu (Keyboards), Lincoln (Guitar/Vocal), Shiva (Bass), Benjamin (Bass) and Fr. Lijo (Vocal/Guitar) -- not to mention Thomas' stints with a few other bands back at college.
Bad thing ... just forgot to add three people to the list of band supporters - Lincoln (Guitar/Vocal), Shiva (Bass) and Benjamin (Bass). We just them to this post. THANKS ALL!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn!! forgot one more guy (Hope this is the last forgetting) His name is Jinu, our first drummer .... In fact, Sooraj was personally brought in by Thomas to help Jinu out with a few drum patterns ... and so it goes - the low profile but grand saga of SERENE SKY Rock Band.
ReplyDeleteHey ... and of course there was Femin, our first keyboardist. (Blog updated!! Again!) Funny thing is that the current lineup of the band is not at all in touch with most of its former members. Therefore, all these forgettings. As the saying goes ... members of SERENE SKY Rock Band came and they went ... but the twosome stuck together ... in spite of quite a few ideological differences.
